Spring has Sprung

March 27th, 2007 | Posted by keltie in Day-to-day things... | Wedding Stuff - (0 Comments)

Finally, the weather has shifted and we are having SUNSHINE and warmth! I absolutly LOVE it! I cant say that once the weather changed, I turned in my runners for flip-flops, as maybe 1 month ago, I decided it was time for spring, and started to wear them! haha.

Wedding is nearly here, 6.5 weeks for those of you counting ;) . Pretty exciting, it will be here before we know it. Things are getting busy which is fun. Between shopping, dress fittings, consultations, making appointments, seating plans, party favours, and everything else in between I’m keeping myself pretty busy. But I have been so blessed to have people around [my mom, Lindsay, Shannon, Lorri] to help with so much!

I am starting to feel like “Bride” now which is fun, 2 great friends, have taken time to plan a Bridal Shower for me, they are so wonderful. It takes place this saturday, so I’ll update you on how fun it is! Since its shower time for me, Phil and my dad are going to take off to Campbell River, to find a pool hall, and as my dad says ‘do guy things’ for the day! That will be fun for them!

But, thats all for now….

Our New Home

March 9th, 2007 | Posted by keltie in Day-to-day things... - (0 Comments)

So, last week, we got the keys to our new home…. Phil will be living here until the wedding, when I will join him. But, so the house was ‘ours’ I have moved in a lot of ‘decorative’ things to make it more homey!

The upstairs is CRAZY insane right now, as Phil is sorting, and getting organized, but the downstairs which was my job to set up is all done! Except, my kitchen cupboards are basically empty, haha! There are some things now, as I did go grocery shopping so Phil wont go hungry, but they will be bare until May, when I am certain they will fill up!

It was such awesome timing when we moved in, the Nymans gave us an early wedding present, their sofa set! and then we bought a brand new table with 6 chairs and a huge leaf for $250! Fantastic! And Winners is also an amazing place! If you’d like to see what our house is looking like check out www.flickr.com/photos/keltieshalaine

The count down continues and is getting so near…. 64 days! We’re excited.

Yesterday, was a fabulous day, when my best friend got married :) . Lindsay and Ben surrounded by family and friends had a simple, elegant, beautiful wedding. The ceremony was at the Baptist church, with a intimate reception to follow at the local yacht club. Everything ran smoothly and it was a perfect day. Lindsay looked amazing… we liked to call it the royal wedding, as she resembled Cinderella, and Ben is British.. so it works. :)

I will try to post pictures soon, but we have had troubles with pictures on here so who knows!

Yesterday night, my big sister Shannon and boyfriend Jason arrived for a visit. So exciting. Today we are having a ‘family’ day we are going to lunch, and then bowling, tonight we are going to play games and hang out which will be nice. Tomorrow we get to go the Endalls for breakfast… eggs benny mm mmm. Well thats all for now!

Our *NEW* old car!

January 16th, 2007 | Posted by keltie in Day-to-day things... - (1 Comments)

Yesterday, Phil and I were able to purchase a new-old car. We purchased a 1999 Toyota Corolla, 140,000 km, 5-speed manual, 4 door, silver car. We are very excited about this car as it fits all of the needs we decided were important to us. Now we are able to park in all parking spots and this car reverses wonderfully!

My standard driving skills are improving, Phil has informed me I just need to be more confident and I’ll do fine. Good news… I’ve only stalled once! Thats not too bad at all.

I’ll post some pictures once I get them on the computer!

Victoria

January 14th, 2007 | Posted by keltie in Day-to-day things... - (0 Comments)

Yesterday, Lindsay and I Keltie and Lindswent to Victoria for a long time planned day trip. We have not been able to get away together just the 2 of us in…. well forever, and with the weddings coming up we were running out of time.

We wanted to go for the drive which is always great for chatting, but we also decided that for Christmas gifts this year, we would buy each other a fabulous Lululemon sweater!! It was so much fun! Lindsay did get a Lulu sweater, some capris and a headband. She got me a OQOQO (OH-COH-COH) sweater instead [which is Lululemon sister store, the clothing is all made of natural organic fabrics]. I was also able to find a BEAUTIFUL dress for there wedding, and it will be great for our honeymoon, and the best part is I now have a dress that is made out of BAMBOO! Crazy!

On the way home we stopped in Nanaimo where I was able to go to Michaels and use a much appreciated gift certificate from my future inlaws. I was finally able to purchase all of those scrapbooking tools that I’ve wanted, but have not been able to spend the money on. I am ready to scrapbook now!

It was such a fun day, we both really needed it and I am definatly looking forward to our next trip!

A New Year!

January 7th, 2007 | Posted by keltie in Day-to-day things... | Wedding Stuff - (0 Comments)

It has been such a long time since we have posted so I best give an update.

Christmas was wonderful, we had lots of fun with family and friends, we are so blessed to be surrounded by so many people who really love us! The holidays seem to have flown by and now we are back at school/work. But its nice to have routine again!

For New Years we were lowkey, we had a Christmas dinner with my parents as my Dad was not home for Christmas, then we had some friends over and played games till shortly after midnight where we welcomed in the New Year and soon were all off to bed.

This year holds a lot of excitement and busyness for us…. February 17th, one of my best friends is getting married. Then our wedding is May 12th! I CANT WAIT! June 30th will be the 3rd wedding planned so far that we will be attending. It seems so strange to be in this stage of life where our friends and us are all getting married.

We have had a not so great start to the year too, finding out that our car is unfixable, which is quite dissappointing. We thought we would have a good 5 years at least out of it. It has caused us to have to shift a lot of things and has forced us to discuss things in a more thorough sense which is good, but it is something I would have been okay wihtout. We are hoping to purchase a new car by February 5th as that is when our insurance runs out on the Contour.

I think that is all that has happened. Hopefully we are better at posting this year!

Christmas in Nanaimo…

December 23rd, 2006 | Posted by keltie in Day-to-day things... - (0 Comments)

Today, Phil and I came to Nanaimo to celebrate, early Christmas with Wanda, Al and Tra.  Wanda and Tra had to come to Comox to pick us up as our car will not be complete until next week, and tomorrow my mom will come pick us up, but we made it :)

Tonight, we had lots of YUMMY YUMMY food… including wings, nachos, veggies and other assortments.  And Wanda and I will be preparing a chocolate fondue that we will be eating very soon…. Tra is quite excited.

Later, Tra and Phil will probably play X-Box while Wanda and I do what we do best….. talk! Well, perhaps we will watch a movie…. Step Up!

Tomorrow, we will be having breakfast in our PJ’s which will be lots of fun! Then we are on our way home to celebrate Christmas eve with mom! Hurrah!

Well, we are off to make the fondue…. dont be tooo jealous! ;)

another day gone by

December 20th, 2006 | Posted by keltie in Day-to-day things... - (0 Comments)

It is so hard to believe the it is already December 20th. It seems the time has just flown by, and I’m having a hard time catching up. I am all done school now, and it feels great. I really enjoy school, but its always so refreshing to be done. And next semester I only have 3 classes to finish my diploma! Phil works until Friday and then he is off until January 2nd. We are both going to work over the holidays a bit, and relax a lot.

Our Christmas plans this year are…. On Saturday the 23rd till Christmas eve we will be in Nanaimo with Aunt Wanda, and Tra. That will be so much fun, they are our other family that is near by and we are very excited to start this yearly tradtion to spend a night with them at Christmas. On Christmas eve, we will be attending our church service with my mom, and then going to some Christmas eve parties, perhaps at the Nymans and the Endalls. After we will come home and open one gift, which is always pj’s and just hang out. We will either open our gifts at midnight, or first thing on Christmas morning, we’ll see how we feel…hehe. Then on Christmas day we are going to the Endalls for Eggs Benedict, which is one my absolute favourite parts, this will be the 20th year I’ve gone :) For the rest of the day we will relax, maybe watch some movie and then have Christmas dinner :) it will be such a wonderful weekend. I am very excited!

Well, I best be back to making lunch!

Some not so good news

December 7th, 2006 | Posted by keltie in Day-to-day things... - (0 Comments)

Phil and I have had an eventful few days. Our car all of a sudden wouldnt reverse. Thinking that we just needed to add transmission fluid, we decided to be pro-active and go straight to Can. Tire yesterday morning. Just to fill it up and find out that we still couldn’t reverse. After this we decided the best choice woudl be to take it to the shop which was only about a block away. We left it there and ventured on our way back to work/school.

Later that day, we were hoping that we would hear its fixed, and it was cheap but to our dismay it was not fixed and definatly not going to be cheap. Our WHOLE transmission needs to be replaced, and after everything it will run up a bill of a couple thousand dollars. YUCK!

We are callilng the dealer today, to get a full transmission diagnostic just to see if something had been missed or anything else we should know. Who knows whats in store for us. Should be an interesting weekend, making all these decisions.

Wish us luck… and lets all hope for a miracle
