And we’re back…

October 8th, 2008 | Posted by keltie in BIG updates - (1 Comments)

It doesn’t feel like my last post was September 24th, but I suppose it was. I’ve been so busy that things truly feel like they are flying by. So since then….

While in Ontario we had a wicked stagette for Rachel — there were 5 of us, and we all wore marty-graw masks and jewels! Our hair was big and fun! We headed out for dinner, dessert — and then to really mix things up we went to karaoke!! Woohoo! Rachel was the first to sing (obviously since it was her party) and then we had lots of group songs. We became the most popular people there (I’m sure it was because of our super-awesomeness…. but have had something to do with our masks, and genuine fun we were having). We arrived home at about 1:30a.m. and had to catch some zzz as the wedding was in 3 days!

The next couple days were fully of craziness, getting everything together, dinners, more getting things done… and then decorating and rehearsal. That night when we arrived home, giddiness and excitement filled the house — as in few a few more hours Rachel would be married! Yay!!

The wedding was amazing! Rachel was a stunning bride – and smiled the whole time, anyone who saw her could tell she was truly happy and definitely enjoying herself. Everyone was happy and had a great day!! The wedding had to be inside due to weather — but all the pictures were taken outside (yay)!! But just in case, I went out and bought all of them umbrellas! Rachel’s was extra special – a black umbrella with white polka dots… and to top it off, rubber boots too!! It was too much fun! Then dinner and a dance! We got home about 2a.m. and just crashed! It was a wonderful, perfect wedding day!!

Sunday was the gift opening for the newly married Iacobucci’s, and then soon after they headed on their way to start their life together. Phil and I slept most of Sunday afternoon, as we were starting to run on fumes, and needed to rest up a bit.

Monday was our last day there — the morning was spent relaxing, and then Phil and Dad Schalm spent some time together, while me and Mom Schalm went out together. That afternoon we got some ‘fall’ pictures taken – since the colors there are much more fall-like then here. Once we were home, Mom Schalm taught me how to make “hot german potato salad” which is Phil’s favorite and he’s been wanting it since before we were married! (I made it 2 days after we got home too)

Tuesday was an eventful day — in the short we were suppose to land at 1:30 – but landed at 7:30 instead, getting us home around 8:15 — so we had been up for close to 20 hours by the time we went to bed… it was exhausting… but we travelled safe, and made it home, luggage in hand!!

Since being home, we have both been back to work, lots of work. This week has been a bit better of slowing down and getting things back together! Which is good, we needed that.

Well, on that note I still have some things to get done today before I’m back at work tomorrow!!!

What an exciting time — weddings that is!! I am a big fan myself…. I am a sucker for the romance, the dress, the flowers, everything! I love to see peoples different idea’s of way’s to do things and seeing different styles that fit everyones personality! Rae and Chris got engaged a couple weeks ago and are planning the wedding for September!! Phil and I will fly out to Ontario for 2 weeks to get in some awesome visiting time with the fam-damily! which will be lots of fun!! Can’t wait! I thought I’d make a ticker to count down to Rae’s day — its always fun to know its getting closer!!!

I’m not sure that anyone reads this, and I’m not sure I mind if no one does. I was looking through friends blogs and realized I did enjoy blogging for the short time I did it, but find I’m not good at keeping it up…. but, who knows might as well try again.

Last month Phil and I celebrated our 1st anniversary (yeah). I can’t believe it’s been over a year, it seemed that our wedding day would never come, it drug on and on. Now I can’t seem to get time to slow down if I try. I also have a feeling it won’t get any better.

We had a big year our 1st year, a good year but had lots of things happen. Phil was originally working at NIC which was great, but in September had an ever better job opportunity, he got to work from home, remotely for a company in Philadelphia! He was thrilled!! It was a bit (a lot) scary for me, I don’t like change at the best of times, and for me not having ever met this Brandon character was strange… but Phil was sure. It has turned out to be the best move ever for us, Phil loves his job, loves ‘going’ to work. In April on our way home from Florida we had the opportunity to stop in Philadelphia and meet Brandon and his lovely wife Heather… it was like we were long lost friends! We all hit it off amazingly and had a great time.

I got 2 new jobs this year (and quit 1) I got a job at CIBC and found that the bank was just not for me. It was a great job for somebody but for me, it just didn’t fit. I started working at Be Clothing Boutique in November and absolutely love it!! It’s a lot of fun for me… and I enjoy it. I’m not sure what I want to do when I grow up, and this fits just fine for now :) .

We also moved this year, the place we were in was put up for sale, and we had to find a new house. We found the best and cutest little house for us! It’s on 5th street, so it’s so close to everything we do! We have a backyard and no longer share walls!! We both feel at home here.

In April we had our 1st ‘holiday’ married. We headed to Florida and met up with Phil’s parent’s at Disney World. My 1st time there, and it truly was magical. We were there for 9 days and it was awesome! It was great to spend some one-on-one time with Phil’s parents too, since we don’t live close we haven’t had the opportunity to do that.

Now we are at home, getting into routine, looking forward to summer and loving our life! Looking forward to what is in store for us in year 2!

Wow, its been quite a while since I’ve updated, and a lot has happened!

Well the big event… on May 12, Phil and I finally!!! got married! We had a beautiful wedding in Filberg Park, and the day couldnt be more perfect. We had a sunny day, with no clouds and just a hint of a breeze which was actually very nice! Pictures went amazingly… check them out on our wedding page! I’ll be adding more soon, as well as pictures of our honeymoon :)

I was so impressed with how well the wedding day went, everything we planned for happened, people did what they were suppose to do, and we started on time! Which is a huge thing to me! It was a great day for Phil and I to see old friends and meet new ones. To finally meet family we hadnt met, and the greatest part of the day, is we were married!

We stayed at the Kingfisher Resort for 2 nights…. it was awesome… room and resort were incredible. Then we went to Tofino, for 5 days, we stayed at The Pacific Sands Resort. Our room was amazing…. we were on the 3rd floor, had a private hottub on our deck, an incredible view of Cox Bay! We spent a lot of time just enjoying the peacefulness of the view and the beaches.

Most of the time we were out on the beaches, taking pictures and just enjoying eachother. We went out to eat lots! mmm food…we were lucky enough to eat at the Wikininish Resort… holy smokes, the best meal I’ve ever had in my life, and Phil says the same thing!!!

When we got back home, Phil still had a week off before he had to go back to work! So that was nice, we got our home set up, and got into some sort of routine. Although we dont feel that we are totally there yet we will get it soon!

Overall, the change has not been hard. We have both been so ready to live with eachother and be married that when we were finally married it was more exciting than anything else. Hurrah for being married!

I start work this week, it will be casual for a little while and then my ideal is to work 4 days. Should be fun!

Anyway, I must go, my Husband :) is making breakfast, and I should go help!
