Welcome to our new home….

No pressure….

Well, in my last post I promised pictures for tonight, and I have to postpone that till tomorrow night. It has been a LARGE day again. Unpacking here, cleaning there. Phil moved the shed stuff into the storage locker (and it all fit!) I had to clean the floors, and steam clean the stairs at the old house. Since I am back to work tomorrow, I figured it would be a good idea to unpack my clothes, which was a large job (had to set up the closet organizers again)

But now here I am getting ready for bed, and can sit back and go …. aahhh, all done! Well nearly, there are a few things left to unpack (many things in Phils office) but only a few general things. I’ve also given myself permission to let it go till Monday (days off) and that what I’ve done so far is good. So tomorrow night, I plan to kick back, relax, perhaps a movie with my AMAZING hubby who has done so much for this move too.

So, check back tomorrow (promise promise) for some pictures of our new abode.

And we are in!

Yesterday was moving day! It was a LARGE day – but we got everything we planned done! I have unpacked a lot, and am getting really close to be all set up. WOOHOO!

Tonight, the girls came over to the house on 5th and we had a cleaning party! I know sounds like so much fun! It really does help make things not so bad. Everyone helps out with the cleaning, visits, listens to some tunes, and of course have some good laughs. Tomorrow I have to go back and wash the floors and steam clean the carpet on the stairs, but that’s easy.

Phil is bringing the last load of stuff which is our shed to our storage locker. He is also doing a dump run to get rid of lots of garbage we have. It’ll be great when it is done!!

Well, I am very tired… so good night, and be back tomorrow with some pictures of the new house!!!

MOVING DAY!!!

May 25th, 2009 | Posted by keltie in Uncategorized - (2 Comments)

Today is the day, we will start moving in 2 hours! Dad is coming over with the truck, so him, Shannon and I can move lots of the boxes, and hopefully unpack a bunch as we go. This afternoon around 4 Ben shows up with his truck as well, along with our ‘young strong backed’ friends so we’ll start moving the ‘big’ stuff. Which thank-fully we don’t have anything TOO large or TOO heavy, so it should be pretty seamless. We have 2 dollies that we borrowed from church, and one from dad, so the trip to and from the truck to the elevator should be easy!! I wish I could say EVERYTHING is packed and ready to go – but that would be a lie. I have not started on our bedroom – which should be easy, b/c we really only have clothes in here. Phil’s office is not quite done yet either… but that’s his business not mine. But, by the time it’s over I know that everything will have made its way over to the new place.

Tomorrow night, I am having a ‘cleaning party’ with some friends – where they’ll come over and help wash down the walls, banisters, clean the bathrooms, etc. We did this last time we moved, and a few extra hands goes a long way. Got done very quick, and was quite fun too.

Wednesday, I’ll steam clean our stairs (the only carpet in the house).

Thursday we have our exit inspection, and then its bye-bye old house.

I’ll update with some new photos, once we are in and set up… and to be honest that will probably be by Wednesday if this move/set-up is anything like the last!

Happy Anniversary!

May 20th, 2009 | Posted by keltie in Uncategorized - (1 Comments)

Last week, Phil and I celebrated our 2nd anniversary!! And we did it in style! We headed over to Vancouver for the weekend, to spend one night with friends and go to the Third Day concert, and then spent 1 night downtown Vancouver.

Our adventure started Saturday morning when we got up and headed to Vancouver – we brought along our good friend Jayme as she was too going to the concert. We borrowed a GPS from friends so the drive was easy!! And there were no direction arguments… YAY!!! We got into Abby around 3 and had time to visit with Jeff and Lyndene which was awesome, they are expecting their 1st baby in Sept, so it was great to see Lyndenes baby bump and baby glow!! Sat night we were at the Third Day concert and it was nothing short of Amazing! Being in a concert with 4000 people all worshiping God is a powerful thing! They are really good in concert too, which of course made it totally worth it!

Sunday we got up and went for breaky with our dear friends, and afterwards we headed downtown to the Fairmount Waterfront for our anniversary night!!! It was fantastic!! We had a bit of a ‘bump’ when we got up to our room and realized that the suit bag was not, and not in the car. Which meant we had dinner reservations at Herons in the Fairmont and only had Jeans, t’s and runners to wear. So we made a quick jaunt to the mall near by to get a dress shirt for Phil and a pair of shoes for me (I happen to have gotten a dress just cause earlier that day that I was able to wear!). Then, it was dinner time!!! It was fantastic!! Phil and I always compare our dinners to the Wikininish which is a place we ate while in Tofino on our honeymoon – the BEST food ever, and ambiance and service. Herons came a very close, it was d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s!! We had a lazy and relaxing Sunday night!

Monday we slept in, which was fantastic. Since Phil works Mon-Fri and I work Thurs-Sat we only have Sundays together, and since we are up for church, we never get to have a morning of laziness, so this was particularly wonderful! Once we were up and ate, we were on our way home. It was raining pouring out, but we stopped at Stanley Park anyway. We went to the aquarium and saw baluga whales, dolphins, sea otters, seals, jelly fish, monkeys, birds and other array of animals, it was great!!! Then it was home time!! Once we got to Nanaimo we surprised Tra with a quick visit, we love to see him, and it’s definitely fun we he has no idea we are coming!!

So we had a lovely anniversary!

Here are some pictures of the weekend…

Overdue Update!

May 6th, 2009 | Posted by keltie in Uncategorized - (1 Comments)

I have been thinking that an update was in need for the last few days, but have yet to sit down and update… so here we are.

Thank-you all for the lovely birthday wishes! 23 so far has been kicked off right!! We had a lovely family celebration, Phil took me for dinner, we had youthgroup on my birthday which meant 18 birthday wishes, and many cards! Saturday night Phil had a birthday party for me, that was suppose to be at the beach – but sadly due to rain, was here at the house – but the party was a huge success regardless of location!

Phil has been busy with work, but is enjoying the projects he’s working on which is good. I am back to normal hours now (after 2 weeks of extra days) and it feels great to get caught up on home life…. laundry is done, kitchen is clean, food is bought, things are back to the norm again!

This coming weekend will be a fun one for us! Friday night is a babyshower for my good friend Amy and her little girl Adah Marie (who was born 2 weeks ago). Saturday Phil and I are heading to Van. for Third Day, and visiting friends. Sunday we are staying at the Fairmont WaterFront for our anniversary, and we are so excited. We will be coming home Monday but are going to take our time coming back, and haven’t decided what we will do there – we are going to play it by ear, and see what happens.

Ball has been good, we’ve had 2 games so far – lost both :( but are improving. It’s a very new team (only like 5 people have played together). Phil is busy with soccer and seems to have a pretty good team this year. He’s at a game tonight which I opted out of, as it is pouring and I just don’t feel like sitting in a wet field getting wet for 2 hours.

So to finish off… here are some photos of birthday celebrations!!
